Once a year the Bodily siblings meet. What a joyful day it is!
I'm only an "inlaw", you know, but I get the privilege of viewing first hand the fruits of some mighty good parenting handiwork.
The moment the Bodilys get together, you feel a deep connecting love between them. Years of being taught the gospel in their home, shared childhood memories (this year we talked of Paul and the burning box) and the assurance that they have a Daddy Dale, I mean Del, waiting for them in Heaven, weld this beautiful eternal family together.
Sweet little Alice continues to lead and counsel her family with Grandpa Ron "stepping in" as her right hand man.
One thing you can count on when the Bodilys get together there will be some mighty good talkin', (about their kids, "techy" stuff, church stuff and the good ole days)....accompanied with hearty outbursts of laughter and plenty 'o good tasting food. You can also count on a good long hugging session before they say good bye. Renee
--a fellow outlaw--says it takes about an hour ...that's not true, Renee....it took 65 minutes this year. :)
Steve and I LOVE each brother and sister....
First, his older sister .... "Steady Delores"....
...."Bubbly Kathie" and her husband Randy....
"Gentle Paul" and wife Deena.....
"Nothing he can't do"..Robert and wife Renee....
Eric... "genius with computers" and wife Linda....
A big thank you tribute to Auntie Deena for spoiling all our grandkids with a handmake "stitched with love" baby quilt.
Isn't it yum? (no two squares alike...using vintage style fabric).
On of my favorite times of the Gathering is when the family sings together...accompanied by Alice. How can one not get a tear as we sing of the Savior's love and our knowledge that "Families are central to the Creators plan for the eternal destiny of His children."
God be with us till we meet again!
