It was perfect in every way...fun outdoor venue - grassy field, cool breezes, on the prairie. "Nice". Rolane - the event organizer is just a gem. She did everything to make it perfect for vendor and customer alike. Delightful. (Mom remember you can click on the pictures to see them larger)
I had great neighbors - I asked her as we were packing up after the show, "Where do you store all your things?" Well...she chuckled. We have a small storage unit business and I have seven of them AND two-three car garages. So there you go folks with the inside scoop. Seven storage units and a six car garage...whoosh......She was a delightful neighbor, by the way.
The weather was perfect - see the blue sky? With a few big rolling clouds coming through once in a while to provide a little shade.
The line at the bottom of the hill, began way before the show even opened..and standing in that line, I have to tell you, are some really great people - the customers were just, well, what can I say? Nice - kind - complimentary - fun. We giggled. I need to giggle more, I've decided.
The entire day was a feeling of 'community'. Friends gathered so share a lovely autumn day.
And these great musicians traveling about to the delight everyone young and old.
Lake Wobegon comes to mind. I didn't see Pastor Inkqvist but I am sure he was there.
And here is little old me....kind of feeling a bit shy.
Grateful for this opportunity to make and share things. Grateful for the miracle it feels like to have found these yummy delicious soft bags and then had the (quite literally) the inspiration to make them into fun and useful things. To be given the courage to just go out there. For people along the way that have encouraged and inspired and shared with me. It truly feels 'miracle like' to me. I just could not have figured this out all on my own. One gal, grabbed my arm, and said, "How did you think of all these cute things?" "I can NOT believe how wonderful this all is." As I thought to answer, I knew, the answer...I believe in a God who loves me and what matters to me, matters to Him, (that He is involved in the details of our lives) and He has helped me...given me ideas, (beginning with buying all these bags when I saw them - many years ago), juxtaposition-ed people in my path to help me along the way. I recognize that and I am grateful.
Located across from the food court which was frying yummy smelling onions and serving big glasses of refreshing drinks all day long...I took this before the doors opened..because once they opened there was a long line all the live long day. It was great.
And last but certainly not least...at the end of the day I found my nest lady and took a couple snaps. Remember her...? Can you see her radiant smile?
I don't know which I love most: her or her amazing nests.
Yes, she MAKES them! She is as good as a bird. Still love them - and her. Virginia that is her name. Virgina the amazing nest builder.
A perfect day...in almost every way...I have a little regret to share - tomorrow.
Tomorrow. I still feel too sad about it, to even write it all out today. But I will..........
